What does GVWR mean, and why does it matter?

Knowledge Base • Posted in

GVWR stands for gross vehicle weight rating, which is the maximum a trailer can weigh fully loaded. To find your trailer’s payload capacity, subtract its empty weight from its GVWR. Make sure your truck can safely tow the full GVWR, and check the label on any trailer before you buy.
